The book tells the story of the emergence of structure and luminous objects in the universe, as we know today. Mankind has asked the question "When was the universe first lit up" since eternity. Modern cosmology is now poised to answer this question; in fact, some tentative answers have already emerged. The purpose of the book is to prepare the reader to appreciate these discoveries and the trend of cosmology in the near future.
Biman B Nath received his Ph D in astronomy from the University of Maryland, USA in 1985. He now works at the Raman Research Institute. He has published a book on cosmology in Bengali titled, "Mohabishwer prothom alo" in 2002.
